Delicious Strawberries with Balsamic Black Pepper

A light and delightful dessert for those on a diet but with a sweet tooth!

Ingredients for 4-6 servings:

  • 1 quart strawberries (rinsed, hulled, and sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Tellicherry Black Pepper to taste

Follow these steps:

Wash the strawberries and cut them into slices.

Place the strawberries in a glass bowl and sprinkle them with sugar and balsamic vinegar. Toss gently to coat. Allow the berries to macerate in the vinegar and sugar mixture for about 15 minutes. 

Add 4 to 5 grinds of coarse black pepper to the berries, and toss to coat.

Allow the flavours to blend about 5 minutes more before serving.

Fancy hint:

Strawberries have a delicate and sweet taste, so they go very well with an aromatic Wild Forest black pepper, or even better with the exotic Japanese Sancho pepper.

In general, any Sichuan pepper works pretty well with this delicious fruit!
